Puck has always been my FAVE Shakespearean character! ( "A Midsummer Night's Dream" is my FAVE play by him!)
Yet, for my original work, "The Sidhe" he has a bit more depth. He's not SOLELY "the trickster". He's capricious, yes. But he is also moody, a womanizer, slightly arrogant and pretty much a jerk (in the beginning).
When the story starts out, he's actually a Prince in the Seelie Court. His father, Oberon had a one-night affair with a human servant girl and she gave birth to a son whom she named Robin. However, he too became a servant and he quickly began to despise his subservient role. When he began asking questions about his father, she told him that he had returned to Tir Nan Og.
He became upset at this news, knowing that he may have had a better life than the one he currently had. He ran away from home and desperately sought out a Sidhe hill to gain admittance to Tir Nan Og.
Oberon, who had been watching his son through magical means (I really don't want to explain their magical items right about now) came to his son and explained that he would have to give up his mortality in order to be allowed to live with them.
Robin wholeheartedly agreed to terms and with a spell, Oberon made his son immortal. Because Oberon and his wife Titania had only daughters (six daughters to be exact ) Oberon claimed Robin as his son and changed his name to Puck, appointing him Prince of the Seelie Court and Lord of the Pooka. [link] (he becomes Oberon's "jester" later...)
Once again, his white hair pegs him as a descendant of Lugh Lamfada.
Coya became his lover and Alaric is his son.
Yeah.
I'll do a better pic o' him later and pop it up in my gallery.
In the meantime,
Prince Robin/Puck, Alaric, Coya and "The Sidhe" are (c) to me

...that earring is amazing. 8D If I wanted to get my ears double pierced (pfft, not happening) that'd be something I'd wear (not really, it just looks cool on other peoples).
I love the cocky grin. XD I really need to read that play. I've heard about it in a Nancy Drew PC game (Secret of the Old Clock) but I've never actually picked up the play and skimmed it. Hm. Now I'm interested. ^^
